Uncle Ted

Our niece Crystal is visiting from Connecticut. This picture was taken last night at the Rainforest Cafe. We had a nice dinner out. "U. Ted" was able to walk from the parking lot to the restaurant and back without any trouble. It was great to get out and have some fun.
Crystal is all grown up! She has grown into a smart, funny, beautiful and caring woman! She took the week off from work to stay at our house and keep track of things here at home during Ted's surgery and hospital stay. We are so lucky to have her, and are sooooo thankful that she's here. We are boring her to tears I'm sure, but it is great to have her here, and it's a very nice distraction.
Ted is resting up for Tuesday's surgery. We let him sleep until noon today! Ted has been a good sport and has been letting me fill him full of antioxidants. He has eaten more fruits and vegetables in the past week than he has in a month. Plus, I've been experimenting with different organic juices I find at the grocery store. He drew the line the other day, after he gulped down a thick slimy green "Antioxidant Super Food" juice drink. Apparently it had wheat grass, kelp, and other "yummy" ingredients. He told me not to bring anymore of that home unless I was planning on drinking it myself. I did convince him to have some blueberry pomegranate juice this afternoon.
Some of you reading this may remember the time I convinced Ted to drink a bottle of black cherry juice when he had gout... If you don't know what happened, ask Ted about it sometime!
I'm lucky he still "humors" me by drinking green slime. Hey, I'm willing to try ANYTHING to get him healthy and keep him that way.
Keep up the happy thoughts and prayers!
